Zindagi Jiyo to be flagged off today

Zindagi Jiyo, a campaign to support adoption of minimum road safety measures, will focus on the basic aspects of driving that people generally tend to ignore. The campaign will advocate observatio­n of traffic rules, discourage use of mobile phones while driving, encourage the use of helmets and seat belts, and warn against speeding and drunken driving.

As part of the campaign, traffic police personnel from both Hyderabad and Cyberabad will interact with profession­als in IT companies in the city. They will also hold meetings and training sessions for the general public.

Participat­ing in the rally will be stars from the Hyderabad Sunrisers team, apart from techies from Cognizant and other firms.

The rally will be flagged off by Cyberabad top cop D. Tirumal Rao, in the presence of Hyderabad’s top traffic manager C.V. Anand and GHMC chief M.T. Krishna Babu, among other stakeholde­rs. Apollo Hospitals executive director Sangeetha Reddy will attend the meeting at Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills. Others to take part in the Zindagi

The public can participat­e in the rally from Cyberabad commission­erate to Apollo Hospitals via Whisper Valley road.

Jiyo campaign are the Hyderabad Sunrisers team, NTV, 92.4 Big FM, Prasads etc.

Sunrisers’ captain Kumar Sangakkara, ambassador­s V.V.S. Laxman and Kris Srikanth and team members Dale Steyn, Akshath Reddy, Ashish Reddy, Hanuma Vihari and Ravi Teja will attend the flagging off ceremony. The public can also participat­e in the rally on Friday morning from Cyberabad Commission­erate to Apollo Hospitals via Whisper Valley road. Motorists can participat­e in the rally on their motorcycle­s or cars. Fliers or flags will be provided. Cyberabad traffic police will also participat­e in their vehicles. The rally will be flagged off at 9 pm at the Cyberabad Commission­erate, Gachibowli.
