Youth rapes girl, demands money Man sends lewd SMSS, arrested

Two persons have been arrested here on the charges of keeping a girl in confinement and raping her, taking her nude photographs and blackmailing her for money.

Police said the victim, a native of Nakarikallu village, was studying for a degree course in a college here. Y. Sanjeeva Reddy, who was studying in another college, befriended her and took her to his room.

He raped her and asked his friend Siva to take her nude photographs on a mobile phone. Then they started blackmailing her and began seeking money from her.

The accused demanded `5,000 from her in April, and again `30,000 recently. He threatened her that her photographs would be uploaded on the Internet if she failed to bring the money. When the girl revealed this to her uncle, he lodged a complaint with the police. DSP Venkataramireddy said cops Visakhapatnam: A man was arrested for sending obscene and threatening SMSs to his former live-in partner and her daughter. Police said that A. Appla Raju, 37, a realtor, was dating a widow named M. Madhuri, 35, who had two daughters. Her husband Subramanyam died in 2011. Police said Madhuri got around 15 lakh as compensation and another 6 lakh by selling ornaments. Raju took the money saying that he would invest it in real estate. Later, they separated and Raju sent obscene SMSs to Madhuri and her daughter. arrested Sanjeeva Reddy and Siva and they were trying to book case under the Nirbhaya Act, and under provisions of the SC, ST atrocity laws.
