Lewandowski

Another club who are ‘highly interested’ in Lewandowski are Manchester United. Sir Alex Ferguson is known to be a smart cherry-picker but with Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez on the pay-rolls, United should be the last club in the market for a striker.
Coming to London, it’s no secret that Chelsea desperately need a striker. There is no coming back for Fernando Torres, his career at Stamford Bridge is not getting rosier. Having already bought Juan Mata, Oscar, Eden Hazard and Marko Marin, a good quality striker is all that the London club need to complete the jigsaw puzzle. And Lewandowski would seamlessly fit in as the Pole is used to linking up with gifted and passhappy players at Dortmund.
Dethroned Manchester City too need a striker. City have often been found lacking penetration and strength while playing against a well-organised defence — a strong, tall striker like Lewandowski would be a solution. Though Edin Dzeko too has the ability to overpower centre-backs, he slows down City. Lewandowski, who is as good technically as physically, wouldn’t create such an issue.
So it has to be either City or Chelsea, unless Real Madrid prove a dampener. However, the club that really need the Polish striker are not the ones who are vying for his signature, they are the ones who could not convince him on signing on a new contract — Borussia Dortmund. And for the sake of not witnessing the dismantling of the team Jürgen Klopp has built from scratch, let’s just hope Dortmund can, somehow, hold on to Lewandowski.
