Chain-snatchers nabbed

The Kanchanbag­h police arrested two juvenile boys who are part of a chain snatching gang. The gang is involved in about seven cases of chain-snatching. The police was able to recover 15-told gold ornaments worth `5 lakh and a motorbike from their possession.

Apart from the two juveniles, one Imran is also a part of the gang. Imran, along with Ali, the receiver of the stolen booty, are on the run.

According to Tarun Joshi, South Zone deputy commission­er of police, during a routine vehicle check near the Gandhi statue in Champapet on Wednesday, the boys were intercepte­d and arrested.

They have been involved in chain-snatching cases in Amberpet and Kanchanbag­h, a house burglary in Bhavaninag­ar and a two-wheeler theft in Banjara Hills.

“The police team noticed the boys riding a motorbike and got suspicious. The duo was searched and the cops recovered gold ornaments from their pockets. On further questionin­g, that boys confessed to the crimes.” Mr Joshi said. Hyderabad: The sleuths of the Chatrinaka police station on Wednesday arrested two burglars who are allegedly involved in as many as 13 burglaries in the Chatrinaka area.

The special team laid a trap for the burglars and nabbed them. A “receiver” of stolen booty was also taken into custody.

The cops recovered property worth nearly

12.5 lakh including about 40-tola gold ornaments, 40-tola silver ornaments, one laptop, one camera and 20,000 in cash.

The accused have been identified as 32- year-old Bhairamoni Srinu, alias Pendyala Srinu, and Kurma Srinivas, alias Chinna Kurna Srinu, 30.

The stolen goods receiver has been identified as M. Ramana Chary, 43, a goldsmith by profession.

According to Tarun Joshi, DCP, South Zone, the team nabbed Bhairamoni and Kurma when the duo had turned up to drop the stolen booty at a shop in Shahaliban­da in the Old City.

They were taken into custody and during interrogat­ion, they confessed to the crime.
