Meet television’s new heartthrob

- NATASHA COUTINHO DECCAN CHRONICLE

Model- t ur ned- actor Harshad Arora makes his debut with Colors’ upcoming show Beintihaa. He tells us that being selected for the show came as a surprise since his audition didn’t go very well. “I got a call from the production house and I gave a really bad audition. They called me the next day for a mock shoot and after four- five meetings I was finalised for the role. It was a big surprise that I made it!” he recounts.

The actor has already started shooting for the show in Bhopal. About the experience, he says, “I’m loving everything about it. I am a big critic of my own work but I have been getting a lot of positive feedback. While we were shooting, people would come up and ask for my autograph and that felt amazing!”

Sharing a little bit about the plot and his role, Harshad tells us, “According to the story, I play a guy who’s born with a silver spoon in his mouth and has been educated in London. He returns to Bhopal and falls in love with the city. It’s very different from the modern day city. For some sequences, I had to drive a 1950s model jeep and that was tough. I have an exciting entry sequence!”

On life off screen, we hear that acting was not part of Harshad’s plan. “To take up acting was a random decision. I didn’t know what to do and modelling just happened. I also had a public relations job. A year-and-a-half later, I started getting acting offers.”

While his show deals with love and marriage, the actor says he hasn’t given it a thought in real life. “I’ve never found the right moment or the right person,” he says.
