Eflu exam goof-ups irk students, parents

-

Anger and frustration prevailed at the English and Foreign Languages University on Saturday, during entrances exams for various UG, PG and PhD courses.

Students and parents expressed anger at the management for printing wrong examination timings on hall tickets for some students. As a result, some students arrived very late — after the exam had started. The affected students were also not allowed into the exam hall.

According to sources, another cause for parents’ anger was the “over enthusiastic” security cover at the university. Guards made students and parents go from one gate to another, before finally letting them enter the campus.

Meanwhile, during the Comparative Literature exam, an hour into the exam, it was discovered that the students were given the previous year’s question paper. The exam was promptly rescheduled for 6 pm, making it troublesome for students who had come from distant locations.

Also, a few students were seen protesting the fact that their parents were not allowed to wait inside the campus for the duration of their exams. Accompanying relatives were made to wait along the road outside the university.

Exams were conducted separately for the students whose hall tickets carried wrong exam times.
