FOUL PLAY Girl raped, cops not convinced

A teenaged girl was allegedly gang raped by her boyfriend and his friends. The victim was taken to a small park at Kacheguda where she was sexually exploited, police said. The victim approached the cops and lodged a complaint. Cops booked a rape case and have also picked up the accused. Cops suspect the victim's version but said the complaint is being investigated.

Narayanguda police said the 19-year-old victim, who is a resident of Gandhi Kuteer in Narayanguda is a native of Darjeeling in West Bengal. She lost her parents and was staying with her uncle here. She was earlier working for a beauty parlour in Himayathnagar but left the job about one-and-a-half months ago.

Police said that while she was at home she got acquainted with the accused Majid, 19, an Intermediate student of a private college in Kacheguda. Both became friends and started moving closely. The other accused were known to the victim.

The victim said on Sunday was taken for a ride by Majid on his bike. He took her to a secluded park in Kacheguda where his friends sexually exploited her. The victim was dropped on a bike at Baghligampally. She was found by locals to whom she reportedly revealed what happened. She later approached the police on Sunday and lodged a complaint. It’s suspected that she was drunk when the incident occurred.

“Based on her complaint a gang rape case was booked. The victim was sent for medical examination. The facts in her complaint is being verified. The CCTV footage from various points which they travelled is being collected and examined,” said inspector S. Bheem Reddy. The cops are not convinced about the victim’s version and suspect that it could be false and there might have been differences between them.
