HCA 6, Andhra 11 in BCCI panels

Hyderabad Cricket Association saw its strength in the Board of Control for Cricket in India subcommittees cut by half while the Andhra Cricket Association managed to hold on to their 11member representations as the BCCI announced its panels for the 2014-15 season on Monday.
The HCA, which had a 13-member presence in BCCI’s previous committees, now has only six. President Arshad Ayub, manger of the Indian team at the recent World Cup, has been drafted as a member of the National Cricket Academy Board. Secretary John Manoj made his national debut as member of the Marketing Committee. Vice President Surender Agarwal is the other new entrant. He found a place on the Vizzy Trophy committee that deals with the game at the University level.
Former Test umpire V.K. Ramaswamy retained his place as a member in the Technical Committee while joint secretary Purushotham Agarwal continues in the Information & Technology Committee. However, Vice President P. Yadagiri moved from the Tour Programme & Fixtures Committee to the Museum panel.
The ACA team was led by its secretary and BCCI vice-president Gokaraju Gangaraju, who has been named chairman of the Tour Programme & Fixtures committee. He was chairman of the Finance Committee in the previous body.
Six others from the ACA retained their posts on the BCCI panels. President DVVS Somayajulu stayed on as a member of the Legal committee while Director Cricket Operations MSK Prasad moved from the Technical Committee to the National Cricket Academy Board.
Ch Arun Kumar has been shifted from the Information Technology to the New Area Development Committee; M.V. Siva Reddy as moved from AntiDoping to the Information & Technology Committee; GVK Rangaraju went from Marketing to Museum Committee while VVSRGK Yachendra made his way out of the Museum, to the TV Production Committee.
Those making the BCCI panels for the first time are M.A. Rahim (Marketing Committee), Koka Ramesh (Marketing Committee), J. Murali Mohan (Women’s Cricket), D. Nageswar Raju (Data Management Committee).
With the Anti-Corruption & Security, Zonal Academies, Women’s Academy and Corporate Trophy committees yet to be named, it remains to be seen whether HCA and ACA will improve their numbers in the BCCI.
