A host of one-sided matches marked the second day of the Fateh Maidan Open snooker and billiards tournament, being played at the Fateh Maidan Club in Hyderabad.

Aslam, Sami Ansari and John Bosco won three straight frames to register comprehensive victories against their respective opponents.

Meanwhile, Khaleel Pasha, Kiran, Naresh and K. Venkatesham scored 3-1 victories in their respective matches.

Aslam took no time to find his groove against Ravi Shankar. A series of well-calculated shots earned him the first frame 64-25.

He continued in the same vein in the second frame as well, easily taking it 68-10 to gain an imposing 2-0 advantage. The third frame was even more of a non-contest, with Aslam bagging it 70-10 to close out an impressive victory.

Ansari, on the other hand, was sluggish in the initial stage stages of his match against Abhi raj.

He gathered himself at the right time, however, and clinched the first frame 60-30. He rode his momentum to take the second set 62-16 and went 2-0 up in the match. He then strolled to a 51-26 win in the third frame and sealed a comfortable victory.

Bosco and P.L. Murthy were locked in an entertaining battle for the first few minutes of the opening frame. However, Bosco outfoxed Murthy to win it 62-39. The second set didn’t see much of a challenge from Murthy as Bosco claimed it 74-21, before taking the third 58-26 for a 3-0 victory.

Khaleel Pasha’s start was erratic, and he paid for it by surrendering the first frame 35-51 to Shiv Krishna.

He was in top form in the second frame though, barely giving his opponent an inch en route to clinching it 56-2.

He won the next two frames 5316 and 59-22 to end on a high.

Kiran’s match against Vib has was largely uneventful, with the exception of the second frame, where Vib has showed some fight. In the end, Kiran won comfortably 41-25, 34-44, 65-10, 39-37.

Naresh, playing against Shabbir, eased to a 69-16, 62-32 victory in the first two sets. Shabbir staged something of a fightback when he took the third set 39-44, but it was only a temporary blip for Naresh, who took the fifth 76-34 and wrapped the match up.

In another match, Venkatesham shrugged off a one-frame deficit and got the better of Clinton to win 3-1 (51-60, 65-62, 69-34).
