‘Mastan had me attacked’

Starlet says that she was assaulted by a person who arranged juice, food... for her in jail and alleges that he had been sent by her husband, Mastan Vali

Starlet Neetu Agarwal, who is out on bail in the red sanders smuggling case, alleged that on Monday she had been waylaid by one Nagaraju — an RTC driver — at Sirivella village while she was returning to Hyderabad from the Rudravaram police station.

Neetu says, “I didn’t know Nagaraju. When I was in jail, this person came to me and arranged mineral water and sometimes idli.”

He apparently came to know that Neetu was some sort of a celebrity and approached her during her time in jail and offered to deliver basic necessities. “He told me that the water and food was not good inside. So he used to arrange idli and juice for me from outside. After I came out on bail I paid him `20,000,” says the actress. “I don’t know anything about him… he is not my friend or a relation.”

She says that Nagaraju followed her on Monday and attacked her at Sirivella village. “I immediately complained to the police and told them that my life was in danger. They gave me an escort and I am very thankful to the police,” she adds.

Neetu alleges that her husband and accused in the red sanders case, Mastan Vali, was behind the attack.

“I am getting threat calls too. Whoever attacked me or threatened me or is trying to kill me was sent by Mastan Vali. I came out and I told the truth to the media and police. That’s the reason Mastan Vali is threatening me,” says the actress, adding that she is now in depression.

“I don’t know what to do now. I am alone and I want to fight it out alone. I made a mistake by marrying Mastan Vali. He used me and I did it for him because he was my husband… He used my accounts for his business purposes and his illegal activities. He made me a scapegoat,” adds Neetu.

She adds that she came to know only later that Mastan Vali had been married twice before. “I came to know about this only now. Do you think any girl will marry a person who has already married twice? He didn’t reveal anything about his personal life. After marriage he used to harass me, so I gave him my debit cards and my account details,” says the actress. “I have nothing to do with his business. All my accounts are seized because of him. When he was in jail, I even got home-cooked food for him as I felt it was my duty. But now I am very disheartened with the way he has entangled me in this case,” says the actress. “But I am fighting it out and I am confident that I will come out clean.”

“I don’t have any close friends from the industry. But the industry people know about me and my sincere work. I am confident that once I come back to the industry, I will get good offers,” says the actress.

“Some of my cousins have come to help me. But they too are getting threat calls from Mastan’s people,” she adds.
