NSDC clears fire fighting course

Hyderabad: In another step to boost skill developmen­t, the National Skill Developmen­t Corporatio­n (NSDC), the apex skill developmen­t

body in the country, has approved the fire safety courses provided by TUV Rheniland Nife Academy. “This adds greater value to our certificat­e which will

now be accepted more widely,” says M.V. Thomas, director of the academy, which was set up in 1992. The institute plans to open 100 more centres, of which 15 will be in Andhra Pradesh

and Telangana, and will come up in another one or

two years. — DC Sport startup gets Apollo arm’s funds

Hyderabad: Apollo’s subsidiary, Lifetime Welness RX, along with Adventure Trails India Limited has invested $1 million (`6 crore) in an adventure sports startup, Volano Entertainm­ent. The

company plans to raise another $6 million funding in

the coming six to nine months. “We also plan to touch a revenue of 100

crore in the next three years,” says Adnan Adeeb, Volano’s co-founder of the

startup. The company organises adventure sports in several cities on a subscripti­on basis. It has also devised an obstacle running

CDK GLOBAL INVESTS $35M

CDK Global Inc., a global leader that provides integrated IT and digital marketing solutions for the auto

motive industry, on Wednesday announced the

launch of its operations in India with an investment of $30-$35 million in the first year. The company, which has a revenue of nearly $2 billion globally and is a spun

off from Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP) has

opened two facilities in Hyderabad and Pune with an

investment of $20-$25m and $10-$15m respective­ly. Talking on the sidelines of the launch of its operations,

Steve J. Anene, CEO, CDK Global Inc. said, “India operations are important to support our goals, and for this endeavour we have already

employed 800 associates, with 500 in Hyderabad and 300 in Pune.” Reddy Malledi,

MD, CDK Global said, “We will be providing technology

support to CDK’s global growth and for this we are planning to recruit 200

more people.”
