Make Swachh Hyderabad a hit, says CM
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday appealed to the public and public representatives to make the ‘Swachh Hyderabad’ initiative, a grand success. It is set to be launched on May 16 in the city.
He urged them to take part in the initiative actively and help the government in resolving the civic issues like garbage, drainage, drinking water, parks and traffic problems.
Mr Rao held a meeting with city legislators and officials of various departments at the Secretariat to review the arrangements for Swachh Hyderabad, which will be held till May 20.
The CM said that over 33,500 officials of various departments, including the Governor, CM, ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and others would take part in the initiative and it would become a success with the participation of people, voluntary organisations, residents’ associations and others.
The city has been divided into 425 units and each unit would be mentored by public representatives and officials. The area of operation of each unit would be 1.25 square kms.
An amount of `50 lakh will be made available to every division to resolve the problems on the spot. About 700 vehicles would also be made available for Swachh Hyderabad to remove unattended debris and garbage on a warfooting during the campaign.
