U.P. DAIRY STAFF SEEK MERCY KILLING

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Several employees of the UP Pradeshik Cooperative Dairy Federation have sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking permission to end their lives. The employees have sought permission for mercy killing for them

selves and their families because they have not been

paid salaries for several months and have been driven to the brink of starvation. The letter written by a group of about 40 says, “We have

not been paid salaries for several years and our families are starving. We have been raising the issue for several years now and no one seems to be caring. We request you to allow us to

perform euthanasia with permission of the President of India”. Problems in the PCDF began in 2013 when the management withdrew Sixth Pay Commission rec

ommendation benefits to the employees, three months after implementing it, and cited poor financial condition of the federation as the reason. After this, the salaries of the employees were

withheld. Employees in Fatehpur have not been paid salaries for 32 months while those in Kanpur have been waiting for their salaries for

22 months. In Kannauj, which is the constituency of Dimple Yadav, wife of CM Akhilesh Yadav, PCDF

employees have not received salaries for more

than one year now.
