Paigah heirs land under threat, no help from TS

- HYDERABAD, FEB. 24

Heirs to the Royal Khursheed Jahi Paigah Estate, Hameedunnisa Begum and her son Nawab Moizuddin Khan, on Wednesday accused the police and revenue officials of supporting a person who was trying to trespass on their land.

Mr Khan told the media they had about 11 acre of Paigah land in Survey No. 1 of Hasmathpet in GHMC’s Kukat-pally circle. “The Kasra Pahanies and Setwar records con- firm it,” he said.

He said his mother had been fighting for the land for 30 years against a person who was trying to occupy the land with the help of fabricated papers.

“The courts have given earlier to the Ranga Reddy collector and the Cyberabad police commissioner to inquire into the matter. Both had given reports that the land belongs to us,” he said.

Ms Hameedunnisa said the police was supporting the encroacher because of political pressure.

“Alwal inspector T. An- and Reddy is supporting the other party and threatening us and our tenants who have been staying there for nearly 45 years.

She added, “I am ready to give the land to the government if it wishes to take it. But I request the government to ensure justice to us.”

Asked about the charge, Mr Anand Reddy said, “We did not get any order to protect the land. Some persons belonging to Goldstone Company are in possession. If the court asks us to provide protection, we shall,” he said.
