Hotels are offering top notch luxury services for canines, other animals Check in with your dog, hotel will take care

London, June 23: A hotel in Vienna arranges for dogs to go to the opera without their owners.

The five-star Park Hyatt Vienna organises cultural nights out for canines. People can check in with their dogs or cats and the hotel aims to be as petfriendly as possible.

If a guest wants a night out in the Austrian capital without his or her dog, but doesn’t want the pooch to get lonely on its own in the hotel room, staff can step in. They can walk the dogs or the hotel can also arrange for an employee to take the animal to the theatre.

The hotel’s general manager Monique Dekker told the BBC, “If the pet wants to go to the opera by himself we will arrange their ticket if the opera allows it.”

Hyatt Vienna is not the only hotel providing top notch services for canines. In the recent years there has been a big growth in the number of hotels that allow people to check in with their dogs, cats or other animals.

According to Hotels.com demand has been growing every year with a large proportion of hotels across the globe now not only accommodating for pets, but also advertising this key feature. It said that a quarter of the 325,000 hotels it now lists around the world allow people to check in with their pets.

Guests wishing to bring their pets with them pay an initial surcharge. For instance, the Park Hyatt dog programme costs $40. Food and other services are then charged on top.

London’s Milestone Hotel has its own “pet concierge” and an extensive menu for dogs and cats, which can be ordered as room service 24 hours a day. — Agencies
