SBI CREDIT CARD DOES NOT RELEASE MY FD

An SBI Signature Credit Card (No. 4032 506484028998) was issued to me by the SBI against the security of my FD in 2014. As I was in bad need of money for my father’s hospitalisation expenditure to encash it, I requested the SBI credit card department to cancel my card and release my FD one month back. They cancelled the credit card immediately and asked me to wait for 12 working days for my FD to be released. After 12 working days when I enquired with the credit card department as still my FD was not released, I was told to enquire in the SBH, Tulsinagar branch where my FD is held and that a letter from the SBI card was sent to the branch to release my FD. When I enquired with the bank branch, I found neither my FD got released nor was there any letter from the credit card section. Again when I enquired about the SBI card, I was told that it would be released by July 18 and I had to check it with the bank branch. I have checked on July 20 and found that neither was it released nor did I receive any letter. Thereafter I have been calling and mailing to the SBI card department but there was no response and this made my life so miserable. I request SBI card to please release my FD at the earliest so that I can spend for my father’s rituals though I could not manage to spend for him when he was alive.

THE SBI has not been releasing my FD though it has been over three weeks and several calls to the bank have been in vain.
