Mayor moots PoP idols ban

Hyderabad: Mayor B. Rammohan said on Monday that the GHMC was working on banning Ganesh idols made of Plaster of Paris in subsequent years to control pollution of water bodies. He was speaking after visiting a workshop at Narsingi and appealed to the people to consider purchasing idols made of clay for the festival this year. He said the GHMC was planning to conduct special training to help artisans that make clay idols.
