KCR’S NIECE RAMYA ARRESTED

-

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s niece Congress leader Regulapati Ramya was arrested by Hyderabad police on Tuesday when she protested at Gun Park demanding the arrest of Choppadandi MLA Bodiga Shobha, against whom a non-bailable warrant was issued. Police shifted her and 11 others who were protesting with her to Gandhinagar police station and released them in the evening. Ramya, the daughter of KCR's elder brother and the founder of TRS, the late K. Ranga Rao, lodged a complaint against Choppadandi MLA Shobha who along with her associates, allegedly attacked their function hall in 2013. The case is under trial in a Karimnagar court. Last Friday court the issued a non-bailable warrant against Shobha, after she failed to appear in court for the trial. " Though a non-bailable warrant was issued, the police is not arresting her and the government is also silent on the issue. How is this fair on the part of the Chief Minister to apply one law to his party and a different law on the opposition. They are violating even court orders,” Ramya said. Ramya quit TRS in 2012 along with her husband Madhusudana Rao, a TRS founder member who then was the vice-president of the party unit in Karimnagar district. She along with her associates protested at Gun Park on Tuesday morning demanding the immediate arrest of Shobha. Ramya after quitting the TRS joined the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and later in 2015, she joined the Congress and is now its spokesperson.
