Rajendrana­gar police registered a case of wrongful restraint against Shastripur­am corporator Md Misbah Uddin and Suleman Nagar corporator Abida Sultana’s husband Md Nawaz. Six other MIM activists were also booked when they protested and scuffled with activists when Rajendrana­gar MLA Prakash Goud came to oversee flood relief operations in the area.

Police said Rajendrana­gar MLA T. Prakash Goud and other officials came to visit flood affected areas and were touring Suleman Nagar, Shastripur­am and other areas.

At Shastripur­am MIM activists entered into an argument with him and blocked him. They said that they can help their people and asked him to go back.

When Mr Prakash Goud tried to pacify them an argument broke out between the two groups.

Police who were already deployed at the spot, swung into action and detained the MIM activists who were protesting. A case was registered against them. Police is investigat­ing.
