ELECTRONIC ESSENTIALS
For perfectionists, a choice of reliable connectors
Android and iOS chargers do the job at 2.1 amp compared normal chargers at just 1 amp
For every electronic device we own, we end up buying two or three umbilicals. Without these unglamorous add-ons, we can’t connect our device to other devices. The basic connectors come with the box, but perfectionists prefer to buy a better class of accessory to get more ‘juice’ for their paisa.
Honeywell is trying to fill the gap with a suite of “electronic essentials”. The connectivity products it has just brought to India, include car chargers, surge protectors, adapters, charge and sync cables, audio and HDMI cables. Unlike most of the free products that come with the main equipment, these are crafted to be safe and lossfree, with 24 carat gold plated connectors and jacks, fibreoptic conductors and braided wires. Honeywell claims that its Android and iOS chargers do the job at 2.1 amp compared normal chargers at just 1 amp. Their car chargers also offer fast charging in three variations — 1 amp with single USB, 2.1 amp with single USB and 2.1 amp with dual USB. The cables and connectors cost `350 — `1650. Honeywell is offering a three year warranty and replacement. For its 3 to 6-socket surgeprotected distribution boards (`950 — `1550) it offers coverage up to `15,000 to replace/repair any properly connected equipment damaged by an electrical surge.
