Nasser And Tito Arrive In Delhi For Meet
NEW DELHI, OCT. 20 President Tito of Yugoslavia and President Nasser of UAR arrived here today within a space of seven hours to join Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the tripartite summit scheduled to open tomorrow.
Both the visitng dignitaries, who received a warm and popular welcome, highlighted in their airport speeches the “present danger” to the international situation and called for intensive peace efforts to save the world from “another catastrophe”.
President Radhakrishnan, who cordially greeted the two Presidents on arrival, spoke of the problems of the world which, he said, was in the position of being able to “foresee the tragedy but powerless to prevent it.”
President Tito expressed the hope that the tripartite meeting would be “most useful and fruitful”. President Nasser especially referred to “obstacles and pressures” faced by countries seeking progress and working devotedly to achieve it.”
