NO AGE LIMIT FOR LAW COURSE IN 2016

The Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) has decided to go ahead with TSLAWCET admissions into the three year LLB and five year LLB courses without setting any criteria for age limit to take admission into the courses as prescribed by the Bar Council of India in a circular sent in September to all universities in the country.

In the circular the BCI restricted the age limit of candidates for the three and five year LLB courses to 20 years and 30 years respectively as per the Clause 28, Schedule III, Rules of Legal Education, 2008.

There are 3,320 seats in the three year LLB course and 1,740 seats in the five year course. Admissions into LLM will be available for those who qualified in TSPGLCET. There are 560 seats in 12 colleges for LLM.

From October 29 to November 2 certificate verification will be done, accessing of web options will be from October 31 to November 4, allotment of seats will be on November 5 and classes will commence from November 8. Second phase of admissions will be from November 14-15.

Pro.f M.V. Ranga Rao, Convener of TSLAWCET said, “The circular of BCI was received in September while the notification for TSLAWCET was released in March itself which did not have the age limit criteria. The exam was conducted in June. The age limit rule is not being followed by us this year. From next year we will implement it.”

Reports say that Maharashtra also decided to do go ahead this year with LLB admissions without age criteria. But the BCI said that such students will not be allowed to register with BCI for practice.
