Hyderabad 2nd best at AG cricket

Accountant General’s office Hyderabad finished runners-up after being knocked by Tamil Nadu side in the South Zone Indian IA&AD cricket tourney

Accountant General (AG) Tamil Nadu defeated AG Hyderabad by four wickets in the finals to win the South Zone Indian Audit and Accounts Department (IA&AD) cricket tournament played at the Gymkhana grounds in Secunderab­ad.

Put in to bat, AG Hyderabad scored 226 for the fall of 7 wickets with the help of Naveen Kumar and Paramveer Singh who scored 66 and 45 respective­ly while R. D. Ashwin Kumar and S. Aswin Kumar snapped two wickets each.

Chasing, Tamil Nadu wrapped up the match in 34.4 overs. It was not an effortless win as Hyderabad gave a tough fight, Tamil Nadu lost six wickets to clinch the title. P. Francis Rakin scored 60 runs and was unbeaten. A. C. Prathibhan and Aswin Kumar contribute­d 38 and 33 runs respective­ly. Anwar and Paramveer Singh did their best for Hyderabad, picking two wickets each.

Final: AG Hyderabad 226/7 in 40 overs (Naveen Kumar L. 66, D. B. Ravi Teja 40, Paramveer Singh 45, R. D. Ashwin Kumar 2/52, S. Aswin Kumar 2/42) lost to AG Tamil Nadu 227/6 in 34.4 overs (N. S. Chaturved 30, A. C. Prathibhan 38, P. Fracis Rokin 60 n.o., S. Aswin Kumar 33, Anwar Ahmed Khan 2/44, Paramveer Singh 2/28).
