-

Boys Sports Company annexed the boys title in the Indian Schools Basketball Championship conducted by the Hyderabad District Basketball Association with a convincing 59-27 win over Kendriya Vidyalaya Picket after leading 23-19 at the halfway stage.

The superiority of the winners was seen in full measure with their forwards never allowing any possession to go abegging. Aman Topno once again gave a solid start to his side with accurate conversions while Prasanth, Pyla Pavan and Vigneshwar provided him admirable support.

Aman Tyagi struck a purple patch for the KV Picket team and in company of Gali Samuel, Avinash and Tushar matched their rivals till the second quarter before the superiority of the winners was seen in full measure as they coasted to a comfortable win thereafter.

Earlier in the semifinals, Boys Sports Company and Kendriya Vidyalaya Picket defeated Kendriya Vidyalaya NPA and Future Kids School respectively. While Boys Sports Company coasted to an easy 56-28 win over KV (NPA) the Future Kids School ran out of steam in the final quarter of the game losing out to Kendriya Vidyalaya Picket 32-50 after leading 27-26 at the end of the third quarter.

The superiority of the Boys Sports Company players was seen in full measure with Aman Topno, Vigneshwar, Animesh and Himanshu combining well and attacking relentlessly. The counter attacking by the winners saw them take the game away in the first quarter itself which ended with a 17-4 lead in favour of BSC. Prasanth was the lone player who tormented the BSC defence but with little support from other players, his heroics went down in vain.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Picket trailing 26-27 at the end of the third quarter pepped up their attack in the final quarter through Mahesh, Tushar and Avinash. Gali Samuel and Aman Tyagi controlling the defence boards ensured that the KV players make use of the outlet pass and score. Future Kids on the other hand succumbed to the pressure and scored only 5 points in the final quarter, all of them being scored by Akhil.
