Diggy plays PCC peacemaker

-

AICC in-charge general secretary Digvijay Singh on Sunday said that senior party leader and MLA from Nalgonda Komatireddy Venkata Reddy would not leave the Congress to join the ruling TRS.

“Differences among the leaders if any would be sorted out,” Mr Singh said, adding that he would speak to all the party leaders including Mr Venkat Reddy and resolve disputes.

Explaining his outburst against PCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Mr Venkat Reddy said he disagreed with the contention of a Congress survey that the party will not win Nakrekal and Bhongir, though it would bag 70 Assembly seats if the state goes to polls now.

Mr Venkata Reddy said that the Congress would win around 90 seats in the state and Nakrekal would be the first seat that the Congress would be winning in the state.

His comments against Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy drew criticism from other PCC leaders who demanded disciplinary action against him.

But Mr Singh ruled it out and said Mr Venkat Reddy won’t join the TRS.
