Microsoft, replace Lumia 535

Ihad purchased a Windows Lumia 535 phone in March 2016 and it keeps giving me problems from the seventh month.

When the phone is put on charging and I do text messaging, touch does not help. Also, the Music App and camera apps are not working fine. Music app, when played for 2-3 hours, stops automatically and I have to reboot. After rebooting, the music app runs for 15-20 minutes and again stops. The camera is also not working well.

Other issues crop up now and then. I had been to a service centre located in Ashoka Bhoopal Chambers in October. The staff said there was a motherboard issue and the phone has to be sent to their Chennai office and it would take two weeks for the issue to be resolved. Either the Motherboard will be replaced or a new phone will be given to me, he said. As there was no standby, he asked me to come back in about two weeks.

I went again in December, met another executive and told her that I had previously been there. She told me the previous staff member to whom I talked had already left the office. She told me the same — the motherboard issue — and said the company has stopped providing standby phones. Finally, when I arranged another phone for myself so that I could give the 535 for repair, I was told something needed to be replaced and the issue will be resolved but for now they do not have that material. I was asked to check with their Malakpet office. The Malakpet office was having another version. They said the phone is not under warranty.

The warranty had expired on January 31, 2017. I was asked to produce bill as proof of purchase to claim warranty. After some talk, they said they can refurbish the phone, but I said no. What’s happening Microsoft? Is this the way you deal with a customer?

I need a replacement for my phone immediately as the warranty is getting expired by March first week.
