WILLOWMEN TOO GOOD

In an institutions league match, Sai Chander of GHMC proved too good for their opponents ECIL as he picked five wickets while conceding 26 runs.

Raj Shekar of Vijaypuri Willowmen snapped four wickets to lead his team to a 59-run win over MP Blues in the One-Day League Championship cricket match.

Put in to bat, Vijaypuri Willowmen could score 276 runs in 38.5 overs. P. Murali Mohan, Noel Micheal and V. Raj Shekar contributed 55, 46 and 45 runs to the total while Avinash and Raju scalped three wickets apiece for MP Blues side.

Chasing, MP Blues folded for 218 runs as it was not easy to bat against the bowlers who maintained perfect line and length. Raju pulled along as much as he could by scoring 67 but failed to build partnership as no one supported him from the other end.

In an Institution League match, GHMC defeated ECIL by 42 runs.

GHMC ended the first innings by setting 116 as target to ECIL. In the first innings ECIL bowlers Delip and Praveen snared four wickets each to bundle out their rivals for a low score.

But, Sai Chander of GHMC proved too good for their opponents as he picked five wickets while conceding 26 runs. He played a pivotal role in dismantling ECIL’s batting order for a mere 74 runs.
