Intel officer harasses CM staffer
A senior (DSP rank) police official from the Intelligence Security Wing posted at the Chief Minister’s camp office is alleged to have harassed a woman member of the staff, and has been transferred to police headquarters pending an internal inquiry.
While senior officers are tight-lipped about the incident, sources say that the woman complained directly to the Chief Minister himself about the alleged harassment and misbehaviour. Sources identified the alleged officer as Vidyasagar. Sources said that the DSP was known to be harassing the woman for the last two months.
A senior police official from the Intelligence Security Wing posted at the Chief Minister’s camp office is alleged to have harassed a woman member of the staff.
“There was misbehaviour, sexually charged advances and harassment by this police official. The issue had been widely discussed among the Intelligence community. The top officials then wanted to remove him from the post in the CM’s camp office and send him to police headquarters,” said a source from the Intelligence wing.
The source added that the misbehaviour often took place on the premises of the CM’s camp office.
The woman had complained to senior policemen before taking the matter to the Chief Minister.
When asked about the incident, DGP Anurag Sharma without denying the incident said that he has not received a report on it so far.
“The Intelligence wing is independent. If they want to send back an official, they usually submit a report. So far, I have not received any report,” he said.
The local police have not booked a case. Officials said that the woman has not lodged a formal complaint with the West Zone police under whose jurisdiction the CM’s camp office falls.
