Secunderabad, Deccan in final
Hosts Secunderabad Club will face off with Deccan Club in the final battle for the Kingfisher Cup in the inter-club T-20 cricket tournament.
In the first semifinal against JHIC, Secunderabad put 151 on the board for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs with the help of Jaidev Reddy and Gajanan Reddy who scored 45 and 31 respectively. Nikhil and Yogendra Reddy were the pick of the bowlers for JHIC with figures of 3 for 16 and 3 for 30 respectively.
At one point the target looked achievable for JHIC as Haresh led from the front and hammered 70 runs, which later went in vain as the doors for the final were closed for his side after they lost the match by 20 runs.
C.V. Anand and Anoop Singh proved to be the nemesis for the losing team as the duo claimed 3 for 18 and 3 for 19 respectively. Jaidev Reddy of Secunderabad was adjudged Man of the Match for his handy contribution with the bat.
In the other semifinal, Deccan Club cantered to an 8-wicket victory over Nizam Club as they chased down the target of 158 comfortably in 16.2 overs. Paramveer Singh and Yeshwanth Reddy stood tall with their major contributions of 73 and 69 respectively, giving opponents no chance for a comeback. Earlier, Nizam Club scored 157 for 9 in 20 overs with Samarth 64 emerging as their top scorer in the match. Deccan’s Praneeth Raj picked three crucial wickets while Mickil Jaiswal chipped in with two wickets.
