STAFF GETS A WARNING ON LEAVE TRAVEL

-

The state government has told employees that misusing the Leave Travel Concession facility could lead to suspension and disciplinary action. There have been complaints that some employees misusing the facility to claim the reimbursement from the government without visiting any places, or by submitting inflated bills.

Employees are entitled for LTC every three years. In case of complaints against employees, the heads of department should constitute an internal inquiry to probe the complaints, the government said.

The cases can be transferred to the AntiCorruption Bureau for further investigation in case there is preliminary evidence that the amount was siphoned off in nexeus with officials and staff.

The department of personnel and training had also recently issued fresh guidelines for Central government staff to check misuse of LTC.

At present, there is no provision for employees to submit a declaration that he/she and their family members have indeed travelled up to the declared place of visit. As per fresh guidelines employees are mandated to submit a declaration.

GAD officials said furnishing false information would attract suspension and disciplinary action.

There are 150 complaints that employees colluded with travel agents to submit inflated bills to claim cash refunds. Though employees booked tickets at discounted rates, they produced higher bills by claiming to have made normal bookings.
