KTR: Efforts on to revive Sirpur Mills

Hyderabad: The TS government has stepped up efforts to revive the closed Sirpur Khagaznagar Paper Mills Ltd in Mancherial district. It also offered to revive the closed Nizam Sugar Factory, if sugarcane farmers come forward to run the factory by forming a cooperative society. Known to be the oldest factory in TS, Sirpur Paper Mills was established in 1938 and closed in 2014, after it posted huge losses. Minister K.T. Rama Rao told Legislative Assembly on Saturday that the government was in the process of identifying a suitable buyer to reopen the factory.
