TROUBLE OVER TWEETS

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Filmmaker Shirish Kunder landed in trouble for his tweets where he allegedly made derogatory remarks about Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Aditya Nath Yogi. Sirish had written on Twitter, “Hoping a goon will stop rioting once he’s allowed to rule is like expecting a rapist to stop raping once he's allowed to rape (sic).” In another tweet, he wrote, “Going by the logic of making a goon as CM so that he behaves, Dawood can be CBI director. And Mallya — RBI Governor (sic).” An FIR had been registered against the director for his derogatory remarks based on a complaint filed by Thakurdwara Trust of Ayodhya secretary, Amit Kumar Tiwari. Sirish has now taken to Twitter to apologise for his actions. He tweeted, “I unconditionally apologise. I never meant to hurt anyone’s feelings or sentiment.”
