- DC CORRESPONDENT HYDERABAD, APRIL 20

With the TRS completing three years in office on June 2, the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has picked up development in the state as a theme for the party’s 16th plenary at Kompally on the outskirts of the city on Friday.

Chief Minister and TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao will be re-elected as the party president for another two year term unopposed at the plenary and set the party’s agenda for the 2019 Assembly polls.

Mr Rao, who has launched a slew of populist welfare measures such as free fertiliser scheme and double bedroom houses, is elated over the response that the government has got from the people. On the development front, the government would like to showcase Mission Kakatiya, Mission Bhagiratha, TS-iPass industrial policy, among others,

In tune with the theme, Mr Rao has named the plenary venue as “Telangana Pragati Pranganam” and the public meeting on April 27 at Warangal has been bill as Prajala Mundu Pragathi Nivedana Sabha (presentation of development report to the people).

While IT minister K.T. Rama Rao is focussing on the TRS plenary in the city, irrigation minister T. Harish Rao is overseeing arrangements for public meeting at Warangal.

TRS MP B. Vinod Kumar, TRS MP said the party foundation day celebrations will include Rythu Jaithra Yatra, which will be attended by farmers.

Known to come out with unique policy, KCR has reportedly decided to ask legislators and senior party leaders to move various resolutions at the plenary including that on power, agriculture, Mission Bhagiratha, welfare schemes, and the impact of ban on gambling etc.

Thirty six varieties of Telangana cuisine will tickle the palates of delegates, say M. Krishna Rao and Koneru Konappa, who have been given charge of food arrangements.
