3 hospitals sealed for gender tests

Three more hospitals were sealed in Khammam on Thursday. The hospitals, including Srihan, Swathi and Gangotrhi, were sealed by district medical and health officer N. Kondal Rao. The team led by DMHO raided these hospitals and found them conducting gender tests and other activities by violating Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act, 1994, and the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Acts. It is found that the operation theatre at the Gangotri was not in hygienic condition and there were no proper equipment in it. He said that they would continue the raids on hospitals violating the rules.
