Woman with burn injuries gives birth

Niazamabad: A pregnant woman with severe burn injuries gave birth to a boy at the government general hospital here on Wednesday night. She was set on fire b her husband for dowry. The incident took place at the Nizam Colony. Police said Mujeeb Khan, an autorickshaw driver, had married Sana Begum, 23, of Kollur village last year. Sana was nine months pregnant and developed labour pains on Wednesday night, but her husband ignored her. Sana Begum protested against the negligence of her husband and Mujeeb beat her up, poured kerosene on her and set her afire. Hearing Sana’s screams neighbours called 108 service and took her to hospital. Sana Begum gave birth to a boy and made her dying declaration to the magistrate on Thursday. The condition of the victim is critical. Meanwhile, the residents of Nizam colony attacked the house of Mujeeb Khan demanding his arrest.
