BRUTAL ATTACK KASHMIR PUSH PARADE GROUNDS

-

The Maoist ambush in which 25 CRPF soldiers were killed was shocking (25 CRPF jawans die in

Maoist ambush, April 25). This indicates complete intelligence failure. The government should now think of surgical strikes on the Maoists. For this antiMaoist operations must be handed over to the military as only they can do that. But does the government have the will to do that?

Secunderabad The loss of 25 CRPF men at Sukma is a sad day for all Indians. This might be due to the soft approach of security personnel. The IAF should have been deployed and that would have neutralised the Maoists. It is unfortunate that our security forces could not detect the presence of 300 armed Maoists.

Manohar A.N.

Secunderabad It was heartbreaking to know that 25 CRPF soldiers were killed in a Maoist ambush. On almost all days, we read about soldiers being killed. This is very disappointing. The people who are expected to secure the lives of citizens are themselves falling victims. Our security forces must adopt modern techniques to suppress the Maoists.

Hyderabad The ambush on the CRPF soldiers was shocking. Our soldiers are regularly getting killed in Maoist ambushes. This indicates gross negligence on the part of our Intelligence community. Our forces must use modern methods of surveillance and take counter-measures against insurgents.

Secunderabad J&K is one of the biggest challenges facing the country. The government must act firmly against the Pakistan-supported groups who are behind the unrest there. The crisis is also a golden opportunity for the government to bring about development in Kashmir.

Karimnagar I fail to understand why the Telangana Chief Minister is obsessed with the idea of building a secretariat on Parade Grounds (CM

wants Parade Grounds, April 25). Isn’t it better to use this money to help our farmers who are forced to commit suicide? The Polo Ground, Gymkhana and Parade Grounds are the only lung spaces in Secunderabad. They should not be converted into concrete jungles. Nita B. George

Secunderabad Hyderabad is now a concrete jungle. It is shocking that the CM wants to convert the few open spaces also into concrete jungles. The CM spent crores on his camp office and for alterations to his residence. Instead of spending billions on building a new secretariat, the money should be used to help our farmers, in improving water and power supply and roads.
