CHEAP FLIGHTS START TO KADAPA, NANDED FROM HYDERABAD

Flights will be operated between Kadapa and Hyderabad after a gap of a year, thanks to the Centre’s Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik — UDAN — to stimulate regional connectivi­ty through a market-based mechanism.

Trujet will operate ATR-72 aircraft between Kadapa and Hyderabad daily. The fare has been fixed at `1,000. It will leave Hyderabad at 10.40 am and Kadapa at 12.40 pm.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched flights from Hyderabad to Kadapa and Nanded in Maharashtr­a through a video conference. Fares have been capped at `2,500 one way.

Maharashtr­a minister Pankaja Munde said the Nanded-Hyderabad service would give boost tourism and developmen­t in Marathawad­a. Nanded hosts one of the five Sikh takhts.
