CONGRATS OU

- Syeda Ayesha Jabeen Mekala Rekha Katuru Durga Prasad Rao Shashidhar Vuppala

Congratulations to Osmania University for completing 100 years. But it is sad that the Governor, who is also the chancellor of the university and the Chief Minister, an alumnus, couldn’t speak at the inaugural function (Guv, CM not allowed to speak at OU centenary, April 27). This might be due to the fear of a backlash from students. Osmania University students played an important part in the creation of Telangana state.

Baglekar Akash Kumar Hats off to Osmania University for completing 100 years. But it is sad that the Governor and the Chief Minister were not allowed to speak at the inaugural function. They should have been allowed to speak as communication is the only way to solve the problems between the students and the two dignitaries. It was shocking that the Governor and the Chief Minister were not allowed to speak at the centenary celebrations of the Osmania University fearing trouble from students. Thousands of Osmania University students participated in the Telangana movement and many sacrificed their lives. They are the real heroes of Telangana. It was unfortunate that the Chief Minister and the Governor were not allowed to speak at the centenary celebrations of Osmania University. After all, the Governor is the university’s chancellor and the Chief Minister an Osmania University alumnus. Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao must accept the truth that he has not done anything for the student community after Telangana formation. Students had lots of expectations when the Chief Minister assumed office. At least now the Chief Minister must do something to create jobs for the students and the youth of Telangana.
