MAN KILLED IN HIT AND RUN MISHAP

A 58-year-old man was mowed down by an unidentified vehicle on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Mohd Maqsood.

According to police, Maqsood was returning home on his bike when the vehicle dashed against his bike causing him serious head injuries.

“The driver of the other vehicle was going in the same direction as Maqsood” said the Sub Inspector of Rajendranagar, K. Rajeshwar Reddy. “He was rushed to Olive Hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead,” added the Sub Inspector. The police said that there were no CCTV cameras installed in that area to identify the other vehicle. Based on a complaint by Maqsood’s son, Mohd Aslam, 25, businessman, Rajendranagar Police registered a case under section 304A (death by negligence) and started investigation.

In yet another case under Narsingi Police Station limits, two relatives were mowed down by a Swaraj Mazada vehicle while they were returning from a function in Gandipet on Monday night. The deceased were identified as Thakur Anil Singh, 28, and Bheem Singh, 39, both private employees. “They were returning home from a function of their relatives on Monday night when the speeding vehicle ran over them, killing them on the spot.” said the Police Inspector of Narsingi, P. Ramachander Rao. Based on a complaint received by Venkat Singh, brother-in-law of the deceased, Narsingi Police booked a case under section 304A and arrested the driver and seized the vehicle.
