SHRC issues fiat to Cyberabad police commissioner Report sought on role of 2 cops

-

The State Human Rights Commission has sought a detailed report from the Cyberabad police commissioner on the alleged involvement of Madhapur station inspector Kalinga Rao and an SI from there in a land dispute in Patrika Nagar in Madhapur.

The petitioner Vanam Srinivas alleged that the inspector and the SI had been forcing them to vacate the land that they had taken on lease from its original owner with a view to developing the land.

The Inspector denied the allegations and said Srinivas and his aides were trying to encroach on the land using forged documents and three cases had been registered against them on charges of trespass.

After the original land owners complained, Srinivas said in his petition that two individuals, V Ajay Kumar and Dolendra Prasad, were the original owners of the land l -- in Survey numbers 80 to 84 -which they purchased in 1992.

Srinivas also said he and his partner R Ranadhir entered into a development agreement with them. Then, one T Ravi Kiran tried to trespass into the land.

When they lodged a complaint, police refused to take action.

Later, Ajay and Dolendra filed injunction suits in court and the orders were issued in their favour, claimed Srinivas.

Later, when they tried to construct a compound wall, they started getting threats and they approached Madhapur police again for protection.

When they refused, they approached the Cyberabad Police Commissioner who directed them to DCP Madhapur, calling for a report.

“After this, the inspector colluded with the other party. Despite the injunction orders, he started efforts to displace us forcibly from the land. He along with SIs Chandrashekar and Naresh threatened us with false cases. The whole thing was recorded in the CCTV cameras at the site.” he said.

A week ago, some people came to the site and damaged the cameras, upon which the security guards belonging to an agency went to the police station with a complaint.

“But we were summoned and confined to the police station for more than eight hours. They have abused us in the name of our caste and threatened with dire consequences,” Srinivas stated.

Inspector Kalinga Rao said when Ajay Kumar and Dolendra claimed the possession of the land, the original land owner lodged a complaint and a case was registered in March. They produced photocopies of the land documents, but we served notice on them, asking them to produce original documents, but they did not turn up so far.

Later, in April also, a case was registered when they trespassed into the land in the absence of the watchmen.

“On May 4, when Srinivas went to the spot and started a verbal fight with the owners, he was arrested. Ajay and Dolendra are absconding,” he said.

The Commission has asked the Cyberabad police commissioner to submit a report by August 1.
