France’s Macron faces new battle

-

Washington, May 8: During an interview in 2014, President Donald Trump’s son Eric Trump allegedly revealed that Russia funded the family’s golf resorts “all the time”.

Golf writer James Dodson, in an interview with a Boston radio station, also revealed that Donald Trump had reportedly told him the family had “access to $100 million” for their newest course in North Carolina.

Mr Dodson said he had met Donald Trump and his son three years ago when he was invited to play golf at their Trump National Charlotte course, the Independent reported.

According to Mr Dodson, Eric Trump told him in 2014 that the family was receiving “all the funding we need out of Russia” and wasn’t relying on American banks for money to build golf courses. He told WBUR that Eric had also said Russians are “really invested in our programmes” and “we just go there all the time.”

However, Eric Trump on Monday denied that he told Mr Dodson the Trump real estate business got money from Russia.

In an early morning tweet, Eric Trump said Mr Dodson's account was “completely fabricated.” His assertion came hours before a new round of testimony on Capitol Hill related to investigations into possible ties between Trump’s presidential campaign and Russia’s election meddling.

“This story is ridiculous,” he said. “We own all of assets free and clear, buy the properties in cash, etc. This really is the worst of the media.”

Earlier, President Trump’s oldest son, Donald Trump, Jr., had said during a conference in 2008 the family business “sees a lot of money pouring in from Russia.” — Agencies

ERIC Trump tweeted that the story was “completely fabricated and just another example of why there is such a deep distrust of the media in our country.”
