Kidnapped girl is back after 2 days

An Intermedia­te student who was allegedly kidnapped by unidentifi­ed persons in Ghatkesar, has returned home two days later.

The police had said the kidnapper took her away while she was standing outside her grandparen­ts’ house in the wee hours of Friday.

According to police, the girl is a resident of Hayathnaga­r and was studying Intermedia­te first year at a private college in Dilsukhnag­ar. On Thursday, she and her mother came to her maternal grandparen­ts’ house in Ghanapur village in Ghatkesar mandal.

That evening, the girl had gone to a nearby kirana store to buy groceries and returned home.

On Thursday midnight, she was standing outside the house when one Potta Raju, who hails from Samsthan Narayanpur in Choutuppal, along with unidentifi­ed persons kidnapped the girl.

Some residents of the locality noticed this and alerted the girl’s family.

The girl’s parents looked for her, but in vain. They lodged a complaint with the police on Saturday.

Police registered a kidnapping case and teams were working to locate and rescue her, the girl returned home on Sunday evening.

“The girl returned home safely. We will try and talk to her to get more details after she comes out of shock,” Ghatkesar police said.

THE GIRL was at her grandparen­ts house and was standing outside on Thursday midnight.
