Principal Dr D. Usha Reddy Meridian School Banjara Hills said, “We are proud to announce that our school students secured 100 per cent pass percentage. I congratulate the students and teachers on the success for the performance of the students this year which is commendable. Out of 114 students who appeared for the exam, 65 got distinction’’.

Anjali Rajzan Principal (AMS) P. OBUL Reddy Public School said, “The results seems good and realistic, as far as our school is concerned, despite no hiking from this year, our children have done exceedingly well. Our bulk results of 234 which is a large number around 88 per cent students are in the range of 70 per cent to 100 per cent marks range. Only 8 per cent are between 50 and 60 per cent range that speaks volumes of the health of the student performance”.

Principal Dr Narasimha Reddy, HPS Ramanthapur, congratulated the staff and students. “Among 46 students who appeared for this, more than 80 per cent got distinction and our students scored good marks in commerce.” This year, Hyderabad schools witnessed more toppers in Commerce stream, whereas results in Maths and Economics are not up to expectations, say authorities.

According to principals of various schools, Commerce is faring better as in recent years, meritorious students are opting for the stream.

Earlier, such students would plump for Science stream.

Scores in Mathematics are relatively low this year, they said, reasoning that most students found the Maths paper quite lengthy this year. This, despite much debate, including in Parliament, about the standard of the question paper, they added.

“Our commerce topper has got 100 in Economics, 98 in Accountancy and 95 in Math and Business studies. Our science topper has scored 95 in Math, Physics, and Chemistry and Computer Science. High scores are noticed this year in Commerce stream as the trend is changing, and meritorious students are opting for commerce,’’ Dr. Narasimha Reddy, Principal, HPS Ramanthapur, said.

“This year, I saw an uptick in English marks, and Physics and Chemistry were much better. Marks in the rest of the subjects were more or less the same as last year, but results in Maths and Economics are not appealing. Our topper is from Commerce stream -Shruti Nagarajan has topped with 97 per cent. Political Science and Psychology could have fetched better marks,” Anjali Razdan, Principal, AMS P. OBUL Reddy School, said,
