ACB CONTINUES RAIDS ON TS SUB REGISTRAR OFFICES

Genuine owners of property have been suffering with litigation­s by land grabbers for years. In some cases, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of the owners but illegal constructi­ons at the site continue to plague them.

A retired employee from secretaria­t purchased a plot in a colony under Manikonda 15 years back. When he visited the plot, someone had constructe­d a house. They claimed to be the owners of the land and had registrati­on documents. Later, the victim came to know that the developer of the colony cheated him by selling the same plot to others.

An RTI activist from Manikonda P. Suresh said the victim approached District Court, High Court and even Supreme Court of India. “The developer initially registered The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday continued its raids on sub-registrar offices in Hyderabad and other districts.

Mr. Tirunagari Venkata Ramana, an advocate dealing with civil cases said that judiciary system was leading to delay. LB Nagar police on Thursday arrested Gokaraju Subba Raju, Chairman and Managing Director of South India Research Institute (SIRI) for his links with the former LB Nagar sub registrar, T. Ramesh Chander Reddy, who was arrested on Wednesday.

Police said that Subba Raju has executed a sale deed for 10,950 square yards of land to ten private persons in connivance with sub registrar Ramesh Chander while he was posted in LB Nagar.

The land located near National Highway No 9 in LB Nagar had a market value of `35,000 per sq yard but Ramesh Chander, without considerin­g the existing market value, adopted the market value at `13,000 per yard, causing a loss of around `1.5 crore to the government.

He was booked under Sections 420, 120 B and 409 of IPC and section 82 of Indian Registrati­on Act and was arrested on Thursday. He was sent to judicial remand.
