Officials objected, Prasad went ahead anyway

Whether it was getting layout approvals from the HMDA or building permissions from the GHMC or even procuring fabricated certificates from authorities, Goldstone Prasad and Co had no qualms in violating the law.

On February 9, 2012, responding to an RTI application filed by Mr Syed Afzal Mehdi of Malakpet regarding the registration of a land document (File number 639/G1/1995 dated 21/04/1995) of Hasmathpet near Secunderabad, the Stamps and Registrations department’s Rangareddy District Public Information Officer had replied, “As seen from the validation registration pertaining to the year 1995, the document is a forgery.”

Based on the forged document, Goldstone Prasad’s wife Indrani Prasad and others had sought building permission from GHMC. The then GHMC chief city planner had identified some irregularities and had written a letter to the HMDA seeking further information.

“During a field visit of town planning teams on March 30, 2015, decision regarding the land was deferred because 18 meters of the master plan showed a road passing through the proposed site. The government orders on deletion or realignment of the master plan was required before any decision could be made. There are more than 300 houses existing between Subash Nagar and Dubai Gate,” the letter read.

Sources from the GHMC said that the letter is still with the HMDA and the civic body is awaiting a reply.

Meanwhile, on July 26, 2014, Deputy Commissioner and Public Information Officer of circle-14, responding to an RTI application had said that the circle office did not issue any permission to P.S. Prasad, Cyrus Investments, Goldstone Engineering Limited, P.S. Parthasarathi and others.

When Goldstone Prasad and Co tried to construct fencing and sheets at Hasmathpet, the GHMC’s circle-14 officials demolished it in the same year.
