TSPSC defends exam, aspirants seek probe

After a series of protests and allegations against Group-II results and demands for a CBI probe by aspirants, the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) said that it has not considered any corrections made by a candidate in the performance part of the OMR sheets. However, corrections made in the biodata part of the sheet were accepted.

This decision was taken as per the recommendations of a technical committee after several representations made by the candidates.

Nearly 5.2 lakh candidates have appeared for the exam, which seeks to fill 1,032 posts.

According to TSPSC, it has ensured that no candidate is put to a loss due to misguidance or confusion in the centres at the time of examination.

Group-II aspirants, however, demanded a CBI inquiry and asked the government stop the interview as several candidates have used whitener to make corrections.

As per the notification, candidates were required to be called in the ratio of 1:2 for interviews. In such case, some of the candidates may get rejected for nonfulfilment of criterion during certificate verification, delaying the process for calling in more candidates.

To avoid such delays, TSPSC has now called the candidates in the ratio 1:3 for Group-II interviews. After completion of the certificate verification, the candidates will be called to the interview in the ratio of 1:2 only.

Under physical disability category, the candidates have been called in for interview in the ratio of 1:5 as there could be some rejections.
