Judge asked to inquire plaint on ‘abusive’ DCP

The Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday directed the principal district judge of Karimnagar to inquire into the allegation­s against Peddapally deputy commission­er of police abusing the High Court and its judicial officers and submit a report before the court within two months.

Justice M.S. Ramachandr­a Rao was dealing with a petition by P.V. Nagamani, an advocate from Secunderab­ad, and Gattu Krishna Rao, a retired teacher of Peddapally district, seeking declaring as illegal the failure of the state government, DGP and Peddapally police commission­er to take disciplina­ry action against the DCP for his illegal act of insulting and defaming the decorum and value of the High Court and its judges by uttering un-parliament­ary language against them.

M.V. Rajaram, counsel appearing for the petitioner­s, submitted that the petitioner­s had approached the Peddapally police commission­er after they received threatenin­g letters from Singareni Karmika Samakhya which is affiliated to prohibited extremists Maoists group, with a request to take necessary action against the culprits.

He told the court the commission­er endorsed the representa­tion of the petitioner­s to Peddapally DCP directing him to take action on their representa­tion . the petitioner­s said that when they visited the office of the DCP, he abused them and also uttered abusive words against the High Court and its judges.

Reacting to the submission­s, the judge asked the district judge of Karimnagar to inquire into the matter and submit a report before the court.
