SOME UoH SCHOLARS GET RELIEF

- DC CORRESPONDENT

UoH scholars held a protest demonstration at the office of the Dean, Students’ Welfare, regarding their forceful eviction from hostels. The UoH had uploaded on the website, a list of students who had completed five years or more of research. Administration officials and research guides held a meeting to determine how long it would take for the students to finish their work. Around 100 students gathered at the office demanding that the students’ union representatives be allowed in the meeting. “We were able to meet the chief warden after the meeting and put forth our demands of allowing the students to complete their research,” said Mr Kuldeep Singh Nagi, Students’ Union president.

Chief warden Vasuki Belavadi settled for opening the locked rooms of the 6th year scholars.
