- DC CORRESPONDENT

Three people tried to commit suicide by jumping into Hussainsagar on Tuesday. They were all rescued by the police before they drowned. One of them, a woman, tried to jump into the lake with her son. Police revealed that they belong to various families and had different reasons to attempt suicide.

In the first case, K. Shoba, 24, a housewife from Khairatabad, came to Upper Tankbund along with her four-year-old son Thaman Teja near Lepakshi and tried to jump into the lake. Cops from the Lake Police Station saw her and stopped her. “Later during counselling, Shoba said that she had got married to a person named K. Pawan four years ago after they fell in love. Due to quarrels with her husband she became troubled and decided to end her life,” said an official of Lake Police Station. After the counselling she was let off.

In the second case a woman, S. Kavitha, 26, from Karimnagar, decided to end her life after a fight with her husband. Cops sent her back home after counselling.

The last case, B. Ramesh, 40, a car driver from Kavadiguda, came near the lake after getting drunk. “He fought with his two children and his wife after getting intoxicated and had come to commit suicide,” said an official from the Lake Police Station.
