Pink paint pains Prattipati

- DC CORRESPONDENT

AP civil supplies minister Prattipati Pulla Rao on Friday objected to the railing on the Nagarjunasagar dam being painted bright pink, the TRS party colour.

Pointing out that Nagarjunasagar is a national project, Mr Pulla Rao said that there was no way that it should have been painted with a regional party’s colours.

Addressing the media in Guntur, the minister said that political colour should not be given to national projects.

“Nagarjunasagar was declared national project in 1965. It supplies water to AP and Telangana. It cannot be given a political party’s colour,” he said, adding that AP will lodge a complaint with the Krishna River Management Board over the issue.

Later, Mr Pulla Rao started the Anna Amurtha Hastham scheme at Chuttugunta. He said that AAH is being implemented in all Anganwadi centres under which nutritious food is being supplied to pregnant women and children from poor and middle class background.

Guntur West MLA M. Venugopala Reddy, Guntur ZP chairperson Sk Johny Moon, Guntur municipal commissioner Ch. Anuradha and officials of women’s and child welfare department and ICDS participated.
